Meeting Safely
Before You Meet
- Video chat first: Verify the person is who they say they are
- Tell a friend: Share who you're meeting, where, and when you'll check in
- Meet in public: Choose a public place with other people around
- Plan your transportation: Have your own way to leave if needed
- Stay sober: Keep a clear head for first meetings
- Trust your gut: If something feels off, cancel or reschedule
During the Meet
- Stay in public: Don't go to private locations on first meet
- Watch your drink: Never leave drinks unattended
- Check in with a friend: Send a quick text at predetermined times
- Respect boundaries: Yours and theirs - consent is ongoing
- Have an exit plan: Know how you'll leave if needed
Red Flags to Watch For
- Pressuring you to meet in private immediately
- Refusing to video chat or verify identity
- Asking for money or financial information
- Being pushy about alcohol or substances
- Not respecting your boundaries or comfort level
- Stories that don't add up or keep changing
- Insisting you don't tell anyone about the meeting
Online Safety
Protect Your Personal Information
- Don't share: Full name, address, workplace, phone number initially
- Use app messaging: Keep conversations in-app until you're comfortable
- Be careful with photos: Remove metadata and identifiable backgrounds
- Google yourself: See what information about you is publicly available
- Use different passwords: Don't reuse passwords across apps
- Enable two-factor authentication: Add an extra layer of security
Scams & Catfishing

We Take Action
Every report is reviewed. We may:
- Remove violating content
- Warn or suspend users
- Permanently ban repeat offenders
- Report illegal activity to law enforcement
